Wednesday 27th March 2019 – Dr. Akara Supratak, an MUICT instructor and one of the researchers in the “TINYEPICBRAINS” project, a technology that connects people through online VDO while applying deep learning technology to analyze the consumers’ behavior for advertising and communication effectiveness, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujin Suwanna from the Department of Physics, Mahidol University’s Faculty of Science, who is part of the research project called “QUTE”, a group of researchers who aims to prepare Thailand for quantum physic technology joined Prof. Wachira Kochakarn, M.D. FACS., Mahidol University’s Acting Vice President for Research and Scientific Affairs, at the press conference of the “U.REKA Batch 2”, which is a collaboration project between universities and IT industry that aims to support “Deep Technology” specialists to create new innovation. The goal of the project is to create technology that sustains Thailand’s innovation ecosystem.
For this year, “U.REKA Batch 2” is sponsored by leading national and international educational institutions and companies which includes more than 21 institutions which are Hello Tomorrow, Deep Tech, Baker McKenzie, 360IP, Microsoft (Thailand), KX: Knowledge Exchange, Ananda Development, Samitivej Hospital, Bangchak Corporation, WHA Corporation PCL, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Digital Ventures, Mahidol University, Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thammasat University, King Mongkut’s University Of Technology North Bangkok, Chiang Mai University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Prince of Songkla University, and Khon Kaen University. “U.REKA Batch 2” divided the research topics into 6 concentrations which are 1. AI / Machine Learning 2. Blockchian 3.Cloud & Security 4. Big Data 5. AR/VR 6. Quantum Computing with the objective to encourage the research development that benefit to the business.
