Thursday 25th July 2019 – the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University together with Mahidol University, the Faculty of Science and Engineering as well as Macquarie University jointly held “Mahidol University – Macquarie University Science, Technology and Engineering Joint Symposium” at Bits & Bytes Hall, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus. This joint symposium aimed to present outstanding research work in order to exchange and develop research knowledge together under the Mahidol– Macquarie Centre for International Education or MCIE.
The Joint Symposium for Technology and Engineering included three concurrent sessions held separately at Mahidol University’s affiliated faculties including the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Two sessions were held at the Faculty of ICT. The first session, led by Professor Michael Sheng, Head of Department of Computing, was a special talk on the topic of “Managing the Internet of Things (IoT): The Next Big Thing”. The second session, led by 4 faculty members of the Faculty of ICT, were a special talk on the topic of “IoT for Energy – Building, Home, Data center” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sudsanguan Ngamsuriyaroj, “IoT for Healthcare – Gait, Exercise, Medical box, Childcare monitoring” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham, “IoT Applications in Various issues” by Lect. Snit Sanghlao and “IoT for Agriculture – Plant monitoring by Dr. Preecha Tangworakitthaworn.
At the end of the joint symposium, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawesak Tanawongsuwan, Deputy Dean for Academic Administration and Graduate Studies, presented souvenir to Professor Michael Sheng for being an honored guest speaker of the Faculty of ICT.
