In recent years, there are a large number of companies that apply game technology to their day-to-day operations especially human resource training. In addition to entertainment, games are used as tools to support learners of various disciplines such as general education, medicine, military, and arts. Learners will have an opportunity to practice in an environment that would otherwise be too expensive or dangerous to setup such as battlefield or surgical room. Combining games and computer technology together will simulate many virtual environments that resemble real environments. Therefore, it is important for the country to have experts in this game technology area in order to improve the development of human resources.<\/p>\n

The Master of Game Technology and Gamification is\u00a0a two-year program, with a flexibility for faster graduation. The program is designed to accommodate both inexperienced and exceptional students. For inexperienced students, it normally takes two years: All the course work is done in the first year, with\u00a0the second year reserved for research work.\u00a0Exceptional students could begin their research early, in parallel with the course work, and potentially complete all degree requirements\u00a0in one year.<\/i><\/p>\n

Educational Philosophy<\/h3>\n

The educational philosophy of the Master of Science in Game Technology and Gamification program (GT) is defined as Student-Centered Approach, Constructivism and Essentialism Blending and is also aligned with Mahidol University\u2019s educational philosophy. Essentialism has been employed to deliver some core essential knowledge in GT to students while the Student-Centered Approach and Constructivism are common philosophies adopted by the university.<\/p>\n

To provide superior academic and professional opportunities in digital computing education, research, and innovation responsive to the needs of a rapidly changing world, elevating the national and global digital economy.<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/h3>\n

1. Have knowledge in theories, practices, and research of game technology and gamification.

Plan 1.2 Academic (Course work and research)<\/strong>
\n1. Students must complete their courses as stated in the curriculum with a minimum CUM-GPA of 3.00.
\n2. Propose thesis to the committee appointed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and to the public and pass oral thesis examination as the final stage.
\n3. The complete or part of the thesis has to be published as a review article, accepted as an innovation, acknowledged as a creative product, or accepted as an academic article that can be searched.
\n4. Other requirements shall follow those that specified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.<\/p>\n

Plan 2 Profession
\n<\/strong>1. Students must complete their courses as stated in the curriculum with a minimum CUM-GPA of 3.00.
\n2. Students must pass the Comprehensive Examination following Regulations of Mahidol University on Graduate Studies.
\n3. Students must present their Independent Study and pass the defense examination by following Regulations of Mahidol University on Faculty Graduate Studies, and the examination is an open system for those interested to listen.
