On May 20, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), celebrated the “16th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Faculty of ICT”. In this regard, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean of ICT Mahidol, led the executives, faculty members, and staff to pay homage to the guardian spirits surrounding Mahidol University, including Chao Pho Khun Thung, Phra Buddha Mahidol Mongkon Panyayarn, the Statue of Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom (the Prince Father), and the protective spirits in front of the ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
On this occasion, the executives and representatives from various faculties, departments, and institutes within Mahidol University participated in the celebration ceremony of the 16th anniversary of ICT Mahidol at the Innovative Space, 1st floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth and joy.
During the morning session, several activities were organized at the Grand Auditorium, 4th floor, including a merit-making ceremony led by monks from Wat Nyanavesakavan. This was followed by the “ICT Staff Honorable Badge and Plaque Presentation Ceremony 2024,” which aimed to recognize the exceptional staff members for their outstanding contributions in 2024, as well as those who have dedicated their time and effort to the faculty over an extended period, thereby enhancing its esteemed reputation as follows:
- “Outstanding Staff Plaques 2023”: 7 recipients
- “Golden Commemorative Pins” 30 years of service: 3 recipients
- “Honorary pins with the ICT logo (Pink Diamond Pin)” for 20 years of service: 5 recipients
- “Honorary pins with the ICT logo (Silver Diamond Pin)” for 10 years of service: 2 recipients
- “Honorary pins with the ICT logo (Oceanic Green Diamond Pin)” for 5 years of service: 2 recipients
In the afternoon, a Dhamma talk was organized to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of ICT. The event was honored by the presence of Venerable Phra Phrom Phacharayanamuni (Ajahn Jayasāro) from Bahn Raitorsor Hermitage, Nakhon Ratchasima, who kindly delivered a sermon on the topic “Technology Awareness.” The session also included a guided meditation led by Venerable Phra Phrom Phacharayanamuni (Ajahn Jayasāro), intended to promote mental calmness and mindfulness. Additionally, Venerable Phra Phrom Phacharayanamuni (Ajahn Jayasāro) kindly engaged with participants in a Q&A session, offering insightful responses to Dhamma-related inquiries from faculty and university staff.
Following the Dhamma session, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean of ICT Mahidol, had the honor of presenting ceremonial offerings (Thai-dham) and performing the traditional water-pouring ritual in dedication to the monks. The session was facilitated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wutthinant Kantatian, a lecturer from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and took place at the Grand Auditorium, 4th floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University.
