ICT Mahidol Hosted the “AI Vision Camp: Introducing Beginners to AI through Images”

On August 16 – 17, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), hosted the “AI Vision Camp: Introducing Beginners to AI through Images.” The activity was honored by the presence of Dr. Kanoksak Wattanachote and Dr. Sirawich Vachmanus, instructors from the Computer Science Academic Group, who served as lecturers to deliver insights on Python Programming Language and Image Classification with high school students, university students, and interested individuals at the IT105 Computer Laboratory, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

On the first day, participants were introduced to the foundations of AI and image classification, which included basic Python for AI, image processing with Python, an introduction to machine learning, and training their first AI model with Keras. On the second day, the camp focused on hands-on practice in developing real image classification AI, such as reviewing and exploring datasets, building and refining their own models, and concluding with project presentations, as well as sharing experiences and lessons learned from the program.

The “AI Vision Camp: Introducing Beginners to AI through Images” aimed to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of Python for image processing, introduce key concepts of AI and Machine Learning, and offer hands-on experience in building and training their own image classification AI models, including writing actual code using Google Colab.
