ICT Mahidol organized the training program “AP Test Preparation Course for ITCS111 Linear Algebra and Calculus for Computing for School Quota Students (ICT Portfolio Round)”

On January 10, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), held the training program “AP Test Preparation Course for ITCS111 Linear Algebra and Calculus for Computing for School Quota Students (ICT Portfolio Round)” at Computer Laboratory IT103, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The training session was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitivatr Patanasakpinyo, a faculty member of the Computer Science Academic Group, who served as the course lecturer. He delivered knowledge and practical training in mathematics for computing for the course ITCS111 Linear Algebra and Calculus for Computing, along with administering the Advance Placement (AP) credit examination under the Credit Bank system. Students eligible to take the AP credit examination were required to complete the online training via https://xlearn.ict.mahidol.ac.th/ during November–December 2025, covering all lessons prior to attending the onsite training and examination.

The “AP Test Preparation Course for ITCS111 Linear Algebra and Calculus for Computing for School Quota Students (ICT Portfolio Round)” is a pilot program specially organized by the Faculty of ICT for school quota students who were selected through the ICT Portfolio Round of the B.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program). Approximately 20 students attended the program. The objective is to provide early academic preparation for selected students who will pursue their studies at the Faculty of ICT, enabling them to understand fundamental concepts of calculus and algebra. This foundation supports the application of calculus and algebra in solving problems in computer science. In addition, participating students in the School Quota (ICT Portfolio Round) are able to earn advance academic credits (Credit Bank), which can be applied toward their future studies in the ICT International Program for the course ITCS111 Linear Algebra and Calculus for Computing at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University.
