On February 18, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with The University of Auckland, New Zealand, organized an academic seminar titled “Considering Patients and Healthcare End-Users in Responsible and Ethical AI in Healthcare.” The seminar was held as part of a research project under the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN).
The event featured a keynote presentation by Associate Professor Rosie Dobson, a registered psychologist and Associate Professor at the School of Population Health, The University of Auckland, New Zealand. She shared insights into the responsibilities and ethical considerations of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, covering aspects such as patient-centered approaches, AI system development, and appropriate integration of AI with patient care. The seminar was moderated by Associate Professor Amy Chan from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, School of Pharmacy, The University of Auckland, New Zealand. It was conducted in an online format via Zoom and attended by 23 participants.
The primary objective of this academic seminar was to disseminate knowledge and prepare participants for an AI-driven future by fostering new skill development, promoting digital learning, and building resilient economic and social systems in response to the evolving landscape of AI advancements.
