On July 30, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized an orientation for new graduate students for the academic year 2025 from the Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science Program, as well as the Master of Science Programs in Computer Science, Cyber Security and Information Assurance, and Game Technology and Gamification. The orientation was presided over by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of ICT Mahidol, who delivered a warm welcome speech to the new students. The orientation also featured a presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jidapa Kraisangka, Assistant Dean for Academic and Curriculum Development, who provided an overview of the graduate programs. The event was held at Bits & Bytes Hall, 4th Floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, and was also accessible online via Webex Meetings.
Following the welcome session, a program overview session was conducted by the program chairs and committee members of all four graduate programs. The session provided key information of each program and allowed new students the opportunity to ask questions regarding academic matters. The presentations were delivered by:
• Ph.D. in Computer Science: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science
• M.Sc. in Computer Science: Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonsit Yimwadsana, Chair of the Master of Science Program in Computer Science
• M.Sc. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance: Asst. Prof. Dr. Dolvara Guna-Tilaka, Committee Member of the Master of Science Program in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance
• M.Sc. in Game Technology and Gamification: Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued, Committee Member of the Master of Science Program in Game Technology and Gamification
The event concluded with a special Alumni Talk session, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. The session featured Mr. Sai Thu Ya, a current Ph.D. student in Computer Science and alumnus of the M.Sc. in Computer Science program, and Ms. Kewalee Lekcharuthas, a current M.Sc. student in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, who shared their learning experiences at ICT Mahidol to the new students.
The “Orientation for New Graduate Students for the Academic Year 2025” was organized with the primary aim of fostering connections among graduate students, faculty members, and the graduate studies support staff. The activity also aimed to promote familiarity, encourage collaboration, and foster a positive and engaging learning environment at the graduate level.
