ICT Mahidol Faculty Member Awarded the Gold Medal at the “2026 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition” (IPITEx 2026), Held in Conjunction with Thailand Inventors’ Day 2026

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), would like to extend sincere congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science, and Head of the Medical Informatics Research Clusters (MI) and Machine Vision and Information Transfer (MVIT) Research Lab, together with the research team: Mr. Kittikhun Thongkanchorn, Computer Technical Officer (Senior Professional Level); Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer; Mr. Meta Limpiwan, an alumnus in the Master of Science Program in Game Technology and Gamification; Mr. Kittikan Charornjai, a postgraduate student in the Master of Science Program in Computer Science, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT); as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nutcha Yodrabum, M.D., and Dr. Irin Chaikangwan, M.D., from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

The Gold Medal was awarded for the research project entitled “Automatic Tool for Creating Custom 3D Models of Nasal Splints for Individual Cases” at the 2026 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2026), organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The award announcement and presentation ceremony were held on 9 January 2026 during Thailand Innovator’s Day 2026 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok.

The 2026 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2026) served as a significant platform for promoting and advancing inventions and innovations from Thailand and the international community toward practical application with social and economic impact. Furthermore, the exposition provided an important mechanism for integrating knowledge, technology, and collaborative networks among inventors, researchers, industry stakeholders, and international partners. This integration contributes to long-term national development aligned with an innovation-driven economic model. In 2026, the event featured more than 800 innovative works submitted by participants from 23 countries.
