On January 7, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University (MUEN), Mahidol University International College (MUIC), and the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), held the “Mahidol Hackathon 2026 Open Day.” The event marked the official opening of the Mahidol Hackathon 2026 program under the theme “DeepTech for the Smarter Campus: Driving Sustainable Innovation with Environmental Impact.” It took place at the Spectrum Screening Room, 5th Floor, Aditayathorn Building, Mahidol University International College (MUIC), Salaya Campus.
The event was honored by the welcome remarks and opening address delivered by Prof. Dr. Chulathida Chomchai, Dean of Mahidol University International College (MUIC), together with Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of ICT Mahidol, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services at the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, who jointly presided over the opening.
This was followed by an introduction and briefing on the Mahidol Hackathon 2026 program by Asst. Prof. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, ICT Mahidol. After the briefing, participating students joined ice-breaking activities and a hackathon workshop designed to spark creativity, foster connections, and strengthen teamwork skills.
Mahidol Hackathon 2026 aims to encourage Mahidol University students to apply deep technology (DeepTech) to develop innovations for a smarter campus that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The program provides a platform for students from various faculties to integrate multidisciplinary knowledge and address real challenges faced by the University through an innovation-driven hackathon, while also cultivating sustainability awareness in line with the Mahidol SDGs. In addition, the initiative promotes an innovation culture and cross-faculty collaboration among ICT, MUEN, MUIC, and iNT, and supports the advancement of innovations from the competition toward real-world implementation within the University, broader community impact, or commercial development in partnership with external organizations.
