ICT Mahidol Participated in the Launch of the Master of Science Program in Advanced Biomedical Technology and Venture Creation in Healthcare, and the MoU Signing Ceremony Between Mahidol University, the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) under the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)

    On July 25, 2025, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), participated in the official launch ceremony of the Master of Science Program in Advanced Biomedical Technology and Venture Creation in Healthcare, as well as the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mahidol University, the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) under the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). The event was presided over by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, along with Prof. Dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, who delivered the background of the program. The ceremonies took place at The Krungthep 2 Meeting Room, Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao.

    During the launch ceremony, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of ICT Mahidol, joined in introducing the Master of Science Program in Advanced Biomedical Technology and Venture Creation in Healthcare, with a particular focus on the major in “AI-based Medical Diagnosis.” The session also featured faculty members from various faculties and institutions under Mahidol University who provided formal introductions to their respective areas of specialization as follows:

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulachart Jangpatarapongsa, Faculty of Medical Technology, introduced the major in “Medical Devices”
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, Faculty of Pharmacy, introduced the major in “Drug Discovery and Development”
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Narisorn Kitiyanant, Institute of Molecular Biosciences, introduced the major in “Biologics and Vaccine”
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Faculty of Engineering, introduced the major in “Medical Robotics”
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunnalin Winuprasith, Institute of Nutrition, introduced the major in “Venture Creation”

    The event concluded with the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mahidol University, the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) under the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), and The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). The signing was officiated by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, Mr. Isares Rattanadilok Na Phuket, Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), and Dr. Surachoke Tangwiwat, Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The MoU aims to establish a collaborative partnership among the three institutions to foster the development of high-potential personnel and promote high-value medical and healthcare industries in Thailand. This partnership is expected to enhance curriculum development to create knowledge and address the country’s evolving healthcare and industry needs.

    On this occasion, the Faculty of ICT also showcased its research projects at the event, including “Automated Framework for AI Federated Learning in Medical Imaging” and “VIS4ION: Visually Impaired Smart Service System for Spatial Intelligence and Onboard Navigation.”
