On April 23, 2025, the Dev Club of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized a community-oriented ICT skills enhancement workshop titled “Player Psychology: Understanding Fear to Enhance Game Design.” On this occasion, Mr. Natchapol Mingmahaphan, a third-year student in the Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program), served as the keynote speaker to share knowledge on the theoretical foundation of fear psychology and its application in game design. The session was attended by students, staff, and faculty members of Mahidol University, with a total of 26 participants, in Room IT210, 2nd Floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The “MUICT – AST The Series for Sharing & Chill: Player Psychology: Understanding Fear to Enhance Game Design” aimed to equip participants with knowledge regarding the fundamental psychological theories of fear. The session covered key topics, including the psychological and neurological aspects of fear, the application of fear psychology in game design, player responses to fear, behavioral insights, and the ethics of horror game design. The objective was to enable participants with practical knowledge that they can apply to their own work or game design projects more effectively.
