On January 27, 2026, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), together with Dr. Wudhichart Sawangphol, Assistant Dean for Research, attended the press conference launching “NVIDIA H200: High-Performance Computing Power Driving an AI-Powered Medical Ecosystem.” The event was held at the Professor Dr. Kasan Jatikavanich Lecture Hall, 1st floor, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, who officially opened the event and outlined a vision for “Enhancing Medical Collaboration through an AI-Powered Medical Ecosystem in accordance with the University’s strategic direction.” The program also included remarks from a representative of Lenovo (Thailand) Co., Ltd., highlighting the technological partnership in supporting the NVIDIA H200 platform to advance high-level medical research and strengthen healthcare capabilities in Thailand. Furthermore, Associate Professor Cherdchai Nopmaneejumruslers, M.D., Vice President for Information Technology and Digital Transformation, Mahidol University, presented an overview of the 2026–2027 action plan, emphasizing the development of medical AI and the establishment of an external validation system for official service provision.
These efforts are part of Mahidol University’s digital transformation strategy, implemented through the development of an AI-Powered Medical Ecosystem. The ecosystem integrates collaboration among internal units, including the Information Technology Division, the Office of the President, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. This collaboration aims to strengthen infrastructure for large-scale healthcare data processing (Healthcare Big Data) and the development of medical artificial intelligence to support medical diagnosis, treatment planning, and advanced healthcare data analytics more efficiently.
Mahidol University is the first public university in Thailand to install and activate the NVIDIA H200, supporting the advancement of medical artificial intelligence and pursuing its goal of becoming a leader in the AI-Powered Medical Ecosystem.
