On August 30, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with the Thai Embedded Systems Association (TESA), organized the 4th Academic Seminar on “RT-Thread IoT Operating System.” The seminar was honored by the presence of Mr. Sawangpong Muadphet, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Komomi Co., Ltd., and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham, Instructor from the Computer Science Academic Group, who served as guest speakers and shared their expertise on the application of RT-Thread with students, faculty members, and interested participants. The event was held at the IT204 Computer Laboratory, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The seminar was designed to provide participants with the knowledge of RT-Thread, an open-source IoT Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) that has gained widespread adoption in Edge AI applications. Throughout the session, participants had the opportunity to explore the operation of the Renesas RA8 board powered by the ARM Cortex-M85 processor, practice program development and building, apply a camera with OpenMV, and connect IoT devices via WiFi. These hands-on activities were intended to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of IoT and Edge AI, thereby preparing them for future technological advancements.
