4 research articles from ICT Mahidol won awards from the “Invention and Innovation Contest, Fiscal year 2022”, held by the National Research Council of Thailand

On 23 November 2021 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), won 4 awards from the “Invention and Innovation Contest, Fiscal year 2022”, held by the National Research Council of Thailand. The research awards are divided into 4 categories: 1) National Outstanding Researcher Award 2) Research Award 3) Thesis Award and 4) Invention Award.

The papers which received the National Research Awards is as follows:

Research Award, Fiscal Year 2022:

Good Level of Research Award: Development of Swamp Buffalo Identification Method Using Biometric Feature, conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol instructor, Dr. Udom Chuachan, Director of Veterinary Research and Development Center (Lower Northeastern Region), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anuwat Wiratsudakul, Department of Clinical Sciences and Public Health, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mr. Bophit Puiyat, Veterinarian (Senior Professional Level), Veterinary Research and Development Center (Lower Northeastern Region), Ms. Sunisa Kinawong, Master’s degree student, Department of Veterinary Epidemiology, Kasetsart University, Mr. Apichart Phawang, Veterinarian (Senior Professional Level) in Ubon Ratchathani Province,
Mr. Surapong Senayai, Veterinarian (Senior Professional Level), Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Livestock Office, and Mrs. Theeraporn Phromphakdi, Veterinarian (Professional Level), Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District Livestock Office.

Thesis Award, Fiscal Year 2022:

Good Level of Thesis Award: Developing Analytics Models for Software Project Management conducted by Dr. Morakot Choetkiertikul, ICT Mahidol instructor under supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Hoa Khanh Dam, University of Wollongong, Australia.

Invention Award, Fiscal Year 2022:

Good Level of Invention Award: Pyramid Graph Cut: Integrating Intensity and Gradient Information for Grayscale Medical Image Segmentation, conducted by Prof. Thanongchai Siriapisit, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol instructor, and Professor Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy, Deputy Dean for Research Development.

Recognition level of Invention Award: Automatic Measurement of Cardiothoracic Ratio in Chest X-Ray, conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol instructor, Prof. Thanongchai Siriapisit, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital,
