STUDENT NAME : Sarunthorn Lunggasootr, Arada Sangvilai and Ekkachat Teja-Isavadharm

ADVISOR : Dr.Pagaporn Pengsart

This project extends OpenNMS in the MUC-Net network management system. OpenNMS is the network management platform developed under the GNU GPL to be a full scale, open source and enterprise grade offering, as well as strangely enough as robust and feature rich. However, within OpenNMS there is based on the centralized paradigm of management which can cause some bottlenecks and delays in reacting to network problems; in addition, the ability to scale becomes an issue. Therefore, designing decentralized management units is proposed and communications among many managers via Web Services technologies are also presented.
The prototype is installed as three campus managers: Phayathai, Siriraj and Salaya. Each manager consists of several basic management functions with managing own campus network. Communications among campus managers using the web services technologies contain three parts of Service Registry installed at the main manager, Service Provider installed at a campus manager and Service Requester used at a web services client.
