ABSTRACT :

In Bangkok, the public transportation especially buses are very essential to daily life. To obtain bus route information of Bangkok, users can search on the Internet, call the call centre of BMTA, or install software on PC.  The Smart Bus Travel Project (SBT) has been proposed to alternatively provide the information via PDAs; therefore, users can simply search for the information while they are travelling. The main features of SBT are a search for bus route information of which results can be sorted by cost, distance and traffic weight; moreover, the results can also be displayed on Google Maps. In addition, SBT can provide optional bus routes which avoid areas with special events being organized on the way of travelling route. If users are lost, SBT allows users to use GPS to locate current position and SBT then suggests new bus routes to destinations. SBT is very easy to use and has friendly interfaces; however, the processing time is sometimes slow as! SBT needs to deal with huge amount data of bus stations, bus routes and interesting attractions.
