Design and Implementation of Call Center via SIP and Asterisk

STUDENT NAME : Salin Lerttivaporn, Chayada Yaemyim and Manochai Sareewipas

ADVISOR : Dr. Sudsanguan Ngamsuriyaroj

This project designs and implements a call center system via VoIP with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) protocol. The system consists of SIP server and Asterisk Server which is the PBX software supported by Open Source Elastix, and also acts like a SIP Server. The SIP server is a SIP registrar and manages the link between clients. Elastix is also used to manage the call center system that keeps track and records all calls. Users can communicate and talk to each other via soft phone software such as X-Lite.
The Asterisk server provides the automatic welcome sound for the Call Center when there are incoming calls, and clients can listen to the latest news and other available voice services including automatic answering machine and encrypted voicemail boxes. Moreover, the Asterisk server records the communication and conversations between users and call center personnel. For administrative purposes, the status of the server would be properly monitored as the system would show who is logging in and IP of clients accessing the server as well as displaying the usage statistics.
