Automatic Power Management System for PC Computers

ABSTRACT :

This project monitors the energy usage in a building by measuring light intensity and temperature in every room using light and temperature sensors, respectively. There are many light bulbs installed in rooms, hallways and corridors. Sometimes, those lights are left open after an event and nobody uses the rooms. Our system allows the monitoring of how many lights have been turned on in a room, and what time that the light was turned on and off. Temperature sensors are used for monitoring of how many air conditions are turned on or off in a room and when. A sensor is connected to a computer via an USB port, and data captured by sensors will be sent to the database stored on the server. All captured data will be used to compute the energy usage consumed at a particular time, and to analyze the pattern of light and air condition usage within a building so that the plan to save the energy usage in the future could be done effectively.
