Abstract

We all, as human, are facing with the most terrifying problem ever recorded in the history of human race - "Global Warming". Global warming has already caused disasters all around the world such as massive storm in Australia, drought in India, flood in USA, and sea level rising in everywhere.

One main cause of global warming is garbage, as it will be contaminated once it is dumped off. This will be a chemical reaction that produces Methane which is 23 times the impact on temperature of a carbon dioxide emission over the following 100 years. Thus in order to reduce the amount of garbage which in turns reducing Methane to be produced, “Garbage Classification” is needed to alleviate this problem.

Garbage classification is a basic action that everyone can do in everyday life. It is also a basic step into 3Rs or so called reduce, reuse, and recycle. These three steps are the fundamental process that is be able to reduce a large amount of garbage and implicitly reduce Methane emission which can finally prevent global warming to happen. Garbage classification can be easily taught by using game as a medium, since both fun factor and learning process can be simply incorporated into the game.

As today, the games on social network websites become popular especially Facebook, so these games could be potentially accessed and played by a huge amount of players all around the world. This project therefore proposes to incorporate garbage classification learning process into the Facebook platform with the name “Junk Master on Facebook”.

In addition, Junk Master on Facebook also integrates the concept of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) by linking the virtual world with the real world. This is done through the collaboration between Kasikornbank (KBank) using the concept of K-Point to allow the players to join the promotions of Kasikornbank.
