Abstract

Bird watching is one of interesting leisure activities which provides many advantages. However, there is no effective media to promote this precious activity in Thailand especially for children and teenagers. Therefore, the main objective of this research project is to develop a bird watching game named “BirdWalker” with various features. It is an edutainment game on the social network (Facebook) which people can access easily and suggest more friends to play. The game guides players to know more about basic bird watching in the real world with fun. There are many maps in the game such as the Royal Rama IX Garden and BCST which model some aspects from the real places. Each map has different difficulty levels and obstacles related to its surroundings. The game benefits are players will know more about birds and the environment with fun and challenges simultaneously. Players will get environmental knowledge from bird study indirectly. They will realize the importance of the environment conservation, the worth of nature, the worth of lives, and increase problem-solving skills through game challenges.
