Abstract

An understanding of the basics of color theory is essential for every artist and can increase the qualities of creative or design work. This senior project is to create a 3d game based on a game engine called panda3d. It is an educational game to teach the basics of color theory. The states in this game focus on children to learn simple concepts of colors such as additive color, subtractive color, and how to mix colors.

We used the game engine called panda3d, which is an open source, a framework for 3d rendering and game development for Python and C++ program. There are four steps of our work which are creating game story, designing the interface of game, creating game logic, and evaluating game. The expected output would be a fun 3D game that children can learn and evaluation of the basics of color.
