Abstract

Connecting VPN server by using existing VPN client on Android phone is very complicate and requires many steps to set up To solve this problem, we develop a VPN client application that has nice graphic user interface and has a few steps to connect to VPN server for user convenience. Our project requires BusyBox, OpenVPN Installer, OpenVPN setting and Java Programming to create a GUI for Android VPN client application.

Moreover, the existing VPN server does not provide the function that can analyze the VPN usage, for example, how many users connect to a VPN server in each day, which faculty who use the most VPN connections, etc. To provide this information, we create a monitoring application via web interface for server administrators. PHP programming, ChartDirector, PHP library, and OpenVPN server are used to develop this VPN server monitoring application on the Linux operating system. As a result, server administrators can check and analyze VPN usage information in form of graph that is easier to understand than the text information.

In conclusion, to support the VPN usage, we develop a VPN client on Android phones and a VPN usage monitoring system on a server.
