ABSTRACT
This research presents a user-centric web quality evaluation model which enables evaluation of website quality with respect to access by different end-user groups. A high quality website with an end-user attitude is a website that meets end-user requirements. Because a website can generally be accessed by different end-users, each of which may require different features and types of information, the variety of requirements from end-users is an important factor that should be considered when we assess the quality of a website. Most current website quality evaluation models, however, fail to take this factor into account. Consequently, this study was the design and development of a user-centric web quality evaluation model, namely WebUcen, which is a unified model for evaluating any website domain based on end-user centric aspects. WebUcen defines and categorizes common website features as a guideline for website quality evaluation. Evaluation can be tailored to fit different end-user groups and website domains. Furthermore, we design a generalized evaluation process that can be applied to any domain. For different end-user groups, different features can be selected and their base evaluation points adjusted. Evaluation results which measure website quality according to end-user-perceived quality characteristics make it easier and clearer for evaluators or website developers to see whether their website can meet the requirements of each potential end-user individual or group.
