ABSTRACT
This research work describes the technique of implementing Virtual Private Network (VPN) handoff in wireless network with high reliability. A solutions is presented which makes use of IKEv2 Mobility and Multihoming (MOBIKE) protocol, coupled with an Access Point (AP) selection in order to maintain to VPN connection with a concern not only for high reliability, but also for high performance. The main idea consists of 4 steps: wireless network device event monitor, access point selection, triggering MOBIKE VPN handoff, and automatic link establishment. The experimental results showed that it could yield 82% of handoff reliability, 17.1 seconds of handoff (latency) time and 76.4% accuracy in best access point selection.
