ABSTRACT
An Online Adaptive Testing System (OATS) was implemented to facilitate examination processes which are a part of e-learning applications. OATS combines the test-item banking system and the computer adaptive testing principle. The testitem banking system supports deposition and withdrawal of exam questions and manages related information. The computer adaptive testing principle provides rationales for posing different test-items to different examinees according to their estimated levels of knowledge. OATS was implemented within the context of the learning system of the Revenue Department of Thailand (RD). The learning system is similar to a library. OATS can improve a learning system and learning processes. It provides learning materials which contain a set of lessons in computer field. Currently, the learning system does not support learning evaluation. The system developed, therefore, helps to improve the RD’s learning system, and enhances its efficiency.
