ABSTRACT
This research project applies data warehousing concepts and clustering techniques to develop a data mart system for tax collection management of large business taxpayers of the Revenue Department (RD) of Thailand. This data mart system collects taxation data, tax rebate data, and submitted tax form data, specifically Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value-Added Tax (VAT), and Specific Business Tax (SBT). The system provides two efficient data analysis tools, which are OLAP Tool and Clustering Tool. OLAP Tool helps support the officers with the ability to explore and analyze a large amount of tax data from different perspectives. The Clustering Tool can lead to significant value-added benefits that help the officers to segment taxpayers into groups according to their submitted tax form, taxation and tax rebate. The Clustering Tool proposes two stages of clustering that use Self- Organizing Map and K-means algorithms. The goal of this project is to apply data warehouse technology for the optimization of tax collection administration in the Bureau of Large Business Tax Administration (LTO) of the Revenue Department of Thailand. The system has been tested on its functionalities by using several interesting scenarios that usually happen in LTO. Moreover, the evaluation of the system functionality and usability revealed that most RD officers were satisfied with the overall system.
