Microsoft Imagine Cup is a global student technology competition. The contest aims to inspire students to use their creativity to help change the world for the better by discovering new ways to use technology to solve world’s toughest problem according to the themes provided by UN.
The competition will be arrived into many categories which students will submit this work directly to the headquater of Microsoft in Redmond. However, for the category of software design, Microsoft in each country will organize a local competition to select the representative to join the world wide final round later.
Every year ICT students attended the competition and gain some awards.
In 2006, students from ICT program entered the competition for the first time and won the runner-up award. In Imagine Cup 2007, our students won the popular vote award as well as an admirable award. Then our students achieved the runner-up award and a consolation prize in Imagine Cup 2008.
In 2009, ICT students really put their effort into their projects. Then several groups of ICT student passed the second round competition in many categories of the competition. Morever, one group of our student achieved the runner-up award and another group obtained the runner-up award.
In 2010, several groups of students attended the competition. A group of our students, Jubjub team, was one team in the last six teams and went to compete in ‘the Worldwide Final round of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010’ in “Game Design” category at Warsaw, Poland. Another two groups, Wake Up Late Team and Bughouse Team, won the 3rd place and 4th place in Thailand Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010 in “Software Design ” category.
