ICT Mahidol welcomed the delegation from Tianjin University, People’s Republic of China on the occasion of their visit to discuss cooperation with Mahidol University

On April 30, 2024, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), along with Asst. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonsit Yimwadsana, Program Chair of M.Sc. in Computer Science, welcomed the delegation from Tianjin University, People’s Republic of China on the occasion of their visit to discuss cooperation with Mahidol University. This meeting took place in the capacity of Tianjin University and Mahidol University being Presidents of China and ASEAN respectively, within the ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchange among Engineering and Technology Universities (ACNET-EngTech). The discussions included student and faculty exchanges.

Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication and staff from Mahidol University’s International Relations Division, participated in welcoming and discussing cooperation in the 530 Meeting Room, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya.

The delegation from Tianjin University included:

  • Prof. Zhao Jinduo, Director of the Organization Office of the CPC Tianjin University Committee
  • Prof. Fan Xiaobin, Dean of School of Chemical Engineering and Technology and Vice Dean of Institute of Molecular Plus, Tianjin University
  • Prof. Liu Changlong, Secretary of the CPC School of Science, Tianjin University
  • Prof. Zhang Zhen, Dean of the School of Education, Tianjin University

After the discussions, the Dean and faculty members of ICT Mahidol led the Tianjin University delegation to visit educational facilities, including the Mahidol University AI Center, the Grand Auditorium, and the Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU). On this occasion, Professor Dr. Peter Haddawy, Deputy Dean for Research; Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued, Instructor of Computer Science Academic Group; and Mr. Thanin Rabiabpho, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science, introduced the Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU Lab) and its projects to them. Additionally, Mr. Tamakorn Jiamrachada, Computer Technical Officer from the Communication Networks Management Unit, served as the guide for the IoT Laboratory. Miss Pallas Santipaisarn, Researcher Assistant, presented the project “VIS4ION-Thailand (Visually Impaired Smart Service System for Spatial Intelligence and Onboard Navigation)” to the delegation.
