ICT Mahidol paid homage and laid a wreath in honor of His Royal Highness Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, marking the occasion of “Mahidol Day 2023”

On September 24, 2023, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, together with Asst. Dr. Jidapa Kraisangka, Assistant Dean for Academic and Curriculum Development, as well as, ICT Mahidol instructors and staff, paid their respects and placed a wreath at the Monument of His Royal Highness Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, the Prince Father, Mahidol Learning Center, Mahidol University, in commemoration of Mahidol Day 2023.

During the same occasion, executives, instructors, and staff from ICT Mahidol represented the Dean in paying respect and laying a wreath in honor of His Royal Highness Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, the Prince Father, on Mahidol Day 2023 at the following locations:

  • The Faculty of Public Health, represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Phongsuphap, Deputy Dean for Strategy and Quality Assurance, along with some staff.
  • The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, an instructor from the Computer Science Academic Group, and Head of the Machine Vision and Information Transfer Lab (MVIT), alongside instructors and staff.

The date September 24th of every year was designated as “Prince Mahidol Day” in commemoration of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, the father of modern medicine and public health in Thailand. This day commemorates his contributions to the development of medical education in Thailand and his selfless devotion to the well-being of Thai people. He also founded the House of Mahidol, the present Royal Family of Thailand. In addition, Prince Mahidol established Siriraj School of Medicine as well as strengthened the solidarity of medical schools in Thailand. He also developed the effectiveness of teaching and learning in Thailand.
