Introduction to Master Program in Cyber Security and Information Assurance

OVERVIEW

MASTER PROGRAM IN CYBER SECURITY AND INFORMATION ASSURANCE

The Internet Technology has played a crucial role in transforming our lives. We are now connected to each other more than ever. This innovation helps drive our social well being and businesses to the unforeseen level. The widespread usage of portable computers and mobile devices allows us to share information and conduct businesses from anywhere at any time thanks to the underlying communication infrastructure capable of transporting large amount of data across the globe. However, there are some people who exploit this free information sharing capability in order to benefit his personal interest at the expense of others. It is known that the number of malicious incidents and the average damage done by those incidents are rising. We, as an educational institution, must respond to this alarming increase in malicious activities. This Master Program is, therefore, specially established to build a strong foundation for students in the areas of Cyber Security and Information Assurance so that they could help the country cope with current and new issues in cyber security and information assurance.

This two-year program is aimed for two types of students: those who would like to be hands-on in securing network software and equipment and those who would like to manage how information is stored and distributed in an organization. The “cyber security” track will target the former type of students and the “information assurance” track will target the latter type of students. The program is developed based inputs from experts in both academic and industry.

If you are looking to improve your knowledge and skills in cyber security and information assurance, this program is right for you.
