ICT Mahidol attended the meeting to discuss academic cooperation at University of Bremen, Germany

During 20 – 24 June 2022 – Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, Professor Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy, Deputy Dean for Research Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Dr. Dolvara Guna-Tilaka, Dr. Akara Supratak, instructors, as well as Dr. Myat Su Yin, Researcher, attended the meeting to discuss academic cooperation at University of Bremen, Germany.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University, also joined this visit and meeting to discuss academic cooperation with the Faculty of ICT and the University of Bremen during 22 – 24 June 2022 on the following topics:

  • A workshop on “Intelligent Virtual Environments for Surgical Training”, conducted by Professor Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy, funded by Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg Institute for Advanced Study. Additionally, the DAAD’s SDG Partnerships program funded Professor Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy and Anna Foerster to conduct the research “Network of Excellence in Advanced Information Technology for Tropical Medicine.”
  • A workshop on “Intelligent Systems for Vector-Borne Disease”.
  • A workshop on “Network of Excellence in Advanced Information Technology for Tropical Medicine”.
  • Meeting with Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) Institute for Advanced Studies to discuss cooperation on recruiting young researchers to collaborate with fellow researchers from different countries in the future.
  • Meeting with Dean of Studies of Physics to conclude the academic cooperation in the field of Environmental Physics and Natural Sciences for Sustainability.
  • Meeting to discuss collaboration between University of Bremen Data Science Center and MU AI Center.
  • Attend signing of extension of Dual Degree Doctoral Program Agreement.
  • Bremen-Mahidol Strategic Partnership Board Meeting under Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU) cooperation on many topics such as organizing a workshop on the topic of Network of Excellence in Advanced Information Technology for Tropical Medicine, student researchers and interns exchange, faculty members exchange under Erasmus scholarships, etc.

In addition, the MU executive team and instructors also visited the students of the Faculty of ICT, Faculty of Tropical Medicine and the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University who participated in the internship program during May – August 2022 at the University of Bremen, Germany.
