On 16 November 2020 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), won 5 awards from the “Invention and Innovation Contest, Fiscal year 2021”, held by the National Research Council of Thailand. This year, 550 research articles were submitted nationwide.

- Excellent Level of Research Award: Code Similarity and Clone Search in Large-Scale Source Code Data, conducted by Dr. Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul, ICT Mahidol instructor, under supervision of Professor Dr. Jens Krinke, University College London.

- Good Level of Invention Award: COVID-19 Detection and Heatmap Generation in Chest X-Ray 2 Images, co-invented by Prof. Thanongchai Siriapisit, Mr. Sarattha Kanchanapreechakorn, Miss Punyanuch Borwarnginn, Mr. Krittanat Sutassananon, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trongtham Tongdee, M.D., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pairash Saiviroonporn, under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol instructor.
- Recognition level of Invention Award: VideoQR: Information Embedding-Retrieval of Re-Recorded Video, by Dr. Thanapong Intharah, instructor from Khon Kaen Univerisity, Dr. Akara Supratak, ICT Mahidol instructor, Ms. Pornsulee Pornchaipruek and Mr. Mongkol Sakdanuphab from Chulalongkorn University
- Recognition level of Invention Award: BINBIN: A Smart Recycling Bin and Applications, co-invented by Mr. Sarayut Lawilai, Mr. Kongpop Leelahanon, and Mr. Tanakitti Sachati, Alumni #Batch 14, under supervision of Dr. Pawitra Liamruk, Deputy Dean for Academic Administration and Acting Deputy Dean for Organizational Communication and Engagement.
- Recognition level of Invention Award: ORCHIDATOR: An Intelligent Orchid Recognition and Knowledge Base System Using Deep Learning, co-invented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob, Miss Kadesuda Tantisereerat, Miss Pimpisut Kewsuwan, and Miss Natnaree Sornkongdang, Alumni #Batch 14, under supervision of Dr. Wudhichart Sawangphol, ICT Mahidol Assistant Dean.
