ICT Mahidol students won 6 prizes from the 23rd National Software Contest (NSC 2021)

On 19 March 2021 – Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation together with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) as well as the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) held the “1st National Science Technology and Innovation Fair 2021: NSTIF 2021”. This year, students from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) won 6 prizes. In addition, all awarded projects in NSTIF 2021 were selected from “the 23rd Young Scientist Competition (YSC)” and “the 23rd National Software Contest (NSC 2021)”.

On this occasion, Dr. Chadamas Thuvasethakul, Deputy Executive Director of the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) and Mr. Terawat Boonsom, Director Division of Research Evaluation and Knowledge Management of NRCT, participated in this online award presentation ceremony at the Sirindhorn Science Home, Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani province.

Students from ICT Mahidol won 6 prizes as follows:

The 1st prize under the categories of Artificial Intelligence Application:

“A data processing and visualization system for PSychological Impact on Mental health using LArge-scale social Networks”, conducted by Mr. Krittin Chatrinan, Mr. Anon Kangpanich and
Mr. Tanawin Wichit, under supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob.

The 2nd prize under the categories of programs for health and medicine:

  • “DentME”, conducted by Mr. Teerakarn Boriboonsub, Mr. Terapat Chansai and Mr. Ruksit Rojpaisarnkit under supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob.
  • “WingBeats: A Deep Learning-based Mosquito Species and Gender Classification System”, conducted by Mr. Borvorntat Nirandmongkol, Miss Chanaporn Chaisumritchoke and
    Tup Kongthaworn, under supervision of Professor Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy.

The 2nd prize under the categories of Internet of Things (IoT):

“Bike Route Tracking and Recommendation via GPS (Edited Version 2)”, conducted by
Miss Noppawon Keerativirachakarn, Miss Mina Pongtawe Ricci and Miss Monai Wisetsing, under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sudsanguan Ngamsuriyaroj.

The 3rd prize under the categories of programs for entertainment:

“The Shaman’s Tale”, conducted by Miss Jidapa Chaovanapricha, Miss Napahatai Sittirit and Mr. Nawat Ngern-anantaporn, under supervision of Dr. Akara Supratak.

Honorable mention prize under the categories of programs for science and technology development:

“RUM : Retracing system for viral disease using social distancing monitoring system”, conducted by Mr. Theewarat Boonsathienwong, Mr. Poom Chuanromanee and Mr. Issawat Nilavongse, under supervision of Dr. Akara Supratak.
