ICT Mahidol together with Depa organized a training on “Skill Development in Cybersecurity”

Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT Mahidol), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sudsanguan Ngamsuriyaroj, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham, and ICT Mahidol instructors, together with Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa), held a training on “Skill Development in Cybersecurity”, under the project “Upskill Digital Manpower for the Digital SMEs”. This training was divided into 5 batches of participants, with the aim to enhance tech workers’ digital skills, especially cybersecurity, which has been getting more relevant in the era of the new normal.

On 31 October 2020 the trainings of the 3rd, 4th and 5th batches of participants were simultaneously organized both online and on-site at ICT Building, Salaya campus. The details are as follows:

  • The 3rd batch of participants were trained on-site at ICT Building, under the topic “Web Application Security Testing and System Security Testing”.
  • The 4th of batch participants were trained online on “Network Security Audits, Identity Verification, and Protecting Information against Cybercrime”.
  • The 5th batch training was conducted online on 31 October 2020 at ICT Building. The training was honored to have Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham as a guest speaker to give basic knowledge of cybersecurity including: Network, Web Technology, Malware, Virus, Worm, Trojans, Ransomware, Adware, Spyware, Botnet, Phishing, Denial of Service (DoS), and DDoS to all participants in the morning. Also, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sudsanguan Ngamsuriyaroj, demonstrated how to prevent and deal with cyberattacks, and gave lectures on the Protection of Personal Information Act, and the Cybersecurity Act in the afternoon. In addition, the next session of the 5th batch training which will be held on 14 November 2020, will focus on Network Security Audits, Identity Verification, and Protecting Information against Cybercrime. The participants will learn how to apply cybersecurity knowledge to their work and daily life. Also, they can adapt the acquired cybersecurity skills to expand or start new digital businesses.
