ICT Mahidol organized an academic conference to promote the development of regular work into research work (R2R) for support staff under the theme “ICT Masters 2023: Determination, Creativity, Development”

On August 21, 2023, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) organized an academic conference to promote the development of regular work into research work (R2R) for support staff under the theme “ICT Masters 2023: Determination, Creativity, Development”. On this occasion, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, presided over the event, which was held at the Bits & Bytes Hall, 4th floor, the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University.

This year, two external experts, namely Mrs. Jariya Panya, Assistant to the President for Human Resources at Mahidol University, as well as Lect. Sanchai Sutipanwihan, a faculty member of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies at Mahidol University, served as commentators for the ICT Masters 2023. In addition, seven faculty members from ICT Mahidol also served as reviewers and judges for the Oral Presentation category. These faculty members included Assistant Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham, Assistant Prof. Dr. Charnyote Pluempitiwiriyawej, Dr. Songpon Teerakanok, Dr. Petch Sajjacholapunt (Deputy Dean for Administration and Human Resource), Dr. Assadarat Khurat (Assistant Dean for Risk Management and Cybersecurity), Dr. Ittipon Rassameeroj (Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Technology), and Dr. Wudhichart Sawangphol (Assistant Dean for Research). Additionally, 14 ICT Mahidol instructors served as committees for the Poster Presentation category. In total, there were 28 submissions in the Poster Presentation category and 3 submissions in the Data Innovation category.

The award-winning works are as follows:

  • Master Winner 1st Place with a prize of 3,500 Baht: ‘Energy Conservation and the Use of Alternative Energy’ by the Engineering and Facilities Department.
  • Master Winner 2nd Place with a prize of 2,500 Baht: ‘Simplifying Process Improvement Plans Using Infographics’ by the Policy and Quality Development Department, as well as the Audio Visual and Digital Learning Media Development Departments.
  • Master Winner 3rd Place with a prize of 1,500 Baht: ‘QR Code Payment’ by the Information and Systems Department, as well as the Budgeting and Finance Departments.
  • Master Winner Honorable Mention with a prize of 1,000 Baht each for three works:
    – ‘Marketing Communication Strategies for Undergraduate Programs (Phase 2)’ by the Organizational Communications Department.
    – ‘Short-Term Training Program Analysis for the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University’ by the Academic Services and Technology Transfer Department.
    – ‘Development of an Internet of Things (IoT) Laboratory Equipment Management System’ by the Technology Infrastructure Department.

In addition to these awards, 28 submissions received the ICT Star Presenter Award, each with a prize of 1,000 Baht, while an additional 3 submissions in the Data Innovation category received 500 Baht each. These prizes were given to motivate the contributing the staff who submitted the works and to facilitate the continued advancement of their work.

The “ICT Masters” event is an annual activity organized by the Faculty of ICT, aiming to provide support staff with opportunities to develop their regular work into research and to exchange and learn from each other. This helps improve and enhance the quality and creativity of their work.
