4 research articles from ICT Mahidol won awards from the “Invention and Innovation Contest, Fiscal year 2023”, held by the National Research Council of Thailand

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), won 4 awards from the “Invention and Innovation Contest, Fiscal year 2023”, held by the National Research Council of Thailand, announced on 25 November 2022.

The papers which received awards are as follows:

  • Good Level of Invention Award in Information Technology and Communication Arts:

1) “PSIMILAN: A Data Processing and Visualization System for Psychological Impact on Mental Health Using Large-scale Social Networks” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob (Supervisor), ICT Mahidol Instructor, together with Dr. Tanisa Tawichsri, Senior Researcher, Puey Ungphakorn Institute for Economic Research, Dr. Thanapon Noraset, ICT Mahidol Instructor, Mr. Krittin Chatrinan, a Master Degree student in Computer Science, ICT Mahidol, Mr. Anon Kangpanich, and Mr. Tanawin Wichit, ICT Mahidol International Program alumni.

2) “Interactive Tool for Creating 3D Models of Custom-Made Nasal Splint” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol Instructor and Head of Machine Vision and Information Transfer Research Lab (MVIT Lab), together with Asst. Prof. Nutcha Yodrabum, Siriraj Piyamaharajkarun Hospital, and Dr. Irin Chaikangwan, Siriraj Hospital, as well as Mr. Rachata Tachavijijaru, a Master Degree student in Game Technology and Gamification, ICT Mahidol.

  • Good Level of Research Award in Information Technology and Communication Arts:

1) “A 3D Deep Learning Approach to Epicardial Fat Segmentation in Non-Contrast and Post-Contrast Cardiac CT Images” by Prof. Dr. Thanongchai Siriapisith, M.D., Department of Radiology, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol Instructor and Head of Machine Vision and Information Transfer Research Lab (MVIT Lab), as well as Prof. Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy, Deputy Dean for Research, ICT Mahidol.

2) “Water Level Prediction Using Image Data from Surveillance Cameras and History Data of Rainfall, Cumulative Rainfall and River Water Heights for Disaster Management” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol Instructor and Head of Machine Vision and Information Transfer Research Lab (MVIT Lab), and Miss Punyanuch Borwarnginn, Ph.D. student of Computer Science Program, ICT Mahidol.
