ICT Mahidol, together with its collaborative partners under the project “Center of Excellence in AI-Based Medical Diagnosis (AI-MD)”, organized Mahidol AI Talk #5

On July 19, 2023 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), together with its collaborative partners under the project “Center of Excellence in AI-Based Medical Diagnosis (AI-MD)”, held the academic seminar “Mahidol AI Talk #5”. On this occasion, Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, delivered a welcome speech to all attendees in Room AI 2, MU AI Center, Faculty of ICT, Salaya. The event was also held online via Webex Meetings.

In this edition of Mahidol AI Talk #5, instructors from the Faculty of ICT and the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University shared their knowledge on the topic “AI in Multidisciplinary Research” with faculty members, staff, students of Mahidol University, and other interested individuals through the following topics:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob, an Instructor of the Computer Science Group at the Faculty of ICT, presented the topic: “AI in Social Sciences.”
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, an Instructor of the Computer Science Group, and Head of Machine Vision and Information Transfer Lab (MVIT) at the Faculty of ICT, lectured on “AI in Medical Imaging.”
  • Asst. Prof. Narit Hnoohom, Chair of the Computer Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, gave a lecture on “Everyday AI.”

Following the talk, there was a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, the Faculty of ICT, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Vice Dean for Strategy and Human Capital Management, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.

The “Mahidol AI Talk Series” seminar was a collaboration project between Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) and collaborative partners under the project “Center of Excellence in AI-Based Medical Diagnosis (AI-MD),” which is supported by the Reinventing University System. The seminar is scheduled to be held every two months starting from September 2022 – September 2023.
