MVIT LAB Team’s “Mobile Application for Sport Movement Analysis” won an Honorable Mention Award from Sport Science Innovation Contest 2022

On 22 July 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) would like to express its congratulations to MVIT LAB Team, including Mr. Poramat Jaratdamrong, Master Degree Student in Game Technology and Gamification, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, ICT Mahidol Instructor and Head of Machine Vision and Information Transfer Research Lab (MVIT Lab), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerawat Limroongreungrat, Deputy Dean for Research, Academic Service & International Relations, the College of Sports Science and Technology, Mahidol University, whose work “Mobile Application for Sport Movement Analysis”, won an Honorable Mention Award and  5,000 THB from the “Sport Science Innovation Contest 2022”. This year, the final round was held onsite at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok, and simultaneously online via Zoom.

The “Mobile Application for Sport Movement Analysis” is a part of Mr. Poramat Jaratdamrong’s Master Degree’s thesis in Game Technology and Gamification. It is a mobile application that helps analyze the biomechanics of running, which allows users to know the values of their waist movement and forward lean while running. Such values can be used to improve users’ proper running posture resulting in fewer knee injuries.

The “Sport Science Innovation Contest” is held annually, with the goal to encourage instructors, teachers, students, and the general public to demonstrate their abilities, creativity in innovation, as well as to disseminate their innovation and technology in sports science that are beneficial to public health.
